Interested in learning more about Christianity?
From Thursday the 14th of January 2010, we will be running an Alpha Course at St Thomas's School starting at 7:30pm. Why not come along, we invite you to join us? If you want to find out more about Alpha, visit their website.
St Thomas's Church is over 100 years old but Christians have worshipped God here for hundreds of years before that, but more importantly the Church is people and we welcome you to come and join us and learn about our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
As a church our goal is to help people come to a living faith in Jesus Christ, and to grow in that faith through love, fellowship and service. We aim to be open, friendly and welcoming to all, providing a place where people can draw closer to God, and a base from which they can go out into the community and put God’s love into action.
We join together from different walks of life, different ages and situations but we share a common desire to follow Jesus Christ, to know Him and accept Him into our lives and to help others know Him too.
Information on our services and activities can be found on our website and we invite you to come long.

Glasses and Medicines - We need your help
Thank you to everyone who has continued to collect glasses for us. We have recently sent approximatley 750 pairs to 'Intercare', a charity based in Leicester that forwards them to Third World countries where a pair of glasses are too expensive for many people to buy. If, like me, you would be lost without your specs you will appreciate how valuable these will be to many, many people.
Intercare also send unused, unopened medicines, dressings etc to Third World hospitals and clinics. In the last 18 months alone we have been able to send over 100 boxes to them worth thousands of pounds, and which would otherwise be incinerated or end up in landfill.
So please keep giving me unwanted glasses or medicines - they will find a good home somewhere!
